Health Effects of Being Overweight: The Dangerous Truths

Majority of the entire population is largely affected by obesity or overweight and based from the World Health Organization's findings, it revealed that overweight is the number two leading cause of other serious illnesses and diseases even death. Overweight poses a threat to many nations worldwide and children in their young age are not exempted to that in fact, a significant number of overweight sufferers come from children's population. There are many causes of an overweight condition and some of it includes unhealthy lifestyle, bad eating habits and physical activities one practices.

Overweight or obesity is known as the imbalance between the calories we consume and the calories we burn through physical activities we perform in a day. To calculate it, we use the BMI or Body Mass Index using the weight and height of one.

Various effects of overweight other than the aforementioned ones causes many health risks and serious diseases such as diabetes, gallbladder problems, heart related diseases, hypertension, increased levels of cholesterol, and deadly cancers. In addition, overweight is also related to infertility, pregnancy problems, increased mortality issues and surgery problems.

Moreover overweight problems could also bring mental health problems aside from the physical diseases. When people are overweight, there are many emotional factors that could trigger negative emotions like overpressure, stress, anxiety, low self esteem and the like. Thus overeating occurs that makes overweight problems serious threat to one's health and body.

Overweight can bring a lot of danger to the body, when the body is overwhelmed of fats and cholesterol build up, all of its organs cannot function properly, this is why obese person are easily exhausted or tired and breathless after doing so little activity. You may also notice that they do not have a sense of control to their body, they uncontrollably eat because their body and mind said so, and their hunger drives them to stuff their bodies even if they already had too much.

Minimal physical activity is as much to be accounted for as to foods that a person consumes daily. With the technology we have, even simple task are made simpler thus only little effort is needed to do tasks which in turn results to less activity for the body and lesser opportunity for us to burn fats. Remember, the calorie in foods that we eat if not burned will be stored same goes to fats that we also get from foods thus the body gains weight easily.
