Zumba Dance - The Many Benefits Of This Motivating Dance Routine

by Lisa Ruiz

Weight problems is one of the leading problems around the world. There are a huge array of fitness programs, diet plans and supplements around to get around this problem. The problem with these is they are boring and do not keep people interested enough to stick with them. Zumba dance is the new way of getting fit while still having fun. This dance has become a phenomenal success worldwide because it keeps people motivated and on track.

Zumba is a fitness program that brings exercise and dance together. It mixes an amazing blend of Latin sounds which include merengue, rumba, salsa and flamenco. These are the most popular latin themes, however, there are other blends as well.

Zumba dance was created by Beto Perez, a celebrity fitness trainer. It was kind of a fluke on how it happened. He was teaching one of his regular aerobic classes but forgot to bring his traditional music. He then grabbed a handful of different Latin tapes which included the beats above. After this day and seeing how enthusiastic his trainees were, he created his innovative zumba dancing routine. What makes this routine so powerful and different than any other type of cardio workout is that it uses interval training within its routine. Interval training has been proven to burn the most amount of calories in a short period of time. In fact, zumba burns anywhere from 500 to 1000 calories in a 45 minute session.

When starting out with zumba dance, it is advised that you start off slow and work up your fitness levels gradually. It is not required that you are fit when starting off with this dance routine, because you can begin it at any level that suits you. As you begin and get moving you will begin seeing improvements in your dancing and shortly after you will see your body shape begin to change.

Zumba dance uses all your muscle groups and provides you with a healthy cardiovascular workout that your body needs. It not only helps to keep you fit, it keeps you healthy. It is recommended that you take a class or follow a video at least three times a week to receive the most benefits from it. Put your other videos aside as it is now time to have some fun while you workout.
