Improper Way of Losing Weight Can Harm You

Has your weight ever gone beyond the normal range as per your height? Are you conscious about your weight? These are questions that most people do not care about at all. People only start to worry about their weight shooting up when they can no longer fit into their clothes or friends and family keep noticing. Some do not care at all. What most of us do not know is that keeping an average weight that is within the normal range will not only make us feel good about ourselves but will also prevent illnesses from creeping in.

Do not make any sudden change in your diet. Anything drastic can harm your body. Start by cutting down on your carbohydrate intake. Go for fruits and vegetables. Keep in mind that you need to eat well so that you don't get tired easily in going about your daily activities. Do not allow yourself to go hungry for a long time. The human body has a unique way of responding to any abuse. In the long run, signs and symptoms of diseases secondary to being overweight will show.

The best way to go is to observe one's eating habits first. We must understand that every human body is different and has its own distinct characteristics. The weight loss diet that worked for your friend might not work for you. The rate of metabolism for each human body differs in 3 ways. It can be fast, slow or just right. You are lucky if you belong to the "just right" category. It is important to understand the rate of your metabolism and work with it.

Exercise is the key factor. We have to consider the amount of energy that we use up in our daily activities. If your job requires you to move a lot than you get to burn enough energy just by going about your daily activities. You could then get away with a just little exercise. Otherwise, indulge in a daily exercise program that you enjoy.

Taking a dip into the pool and doing a few laps every other day is one good exercise. However, you will need to go to where the pool is located. Playing basketball if you like the sport is also a highly suggested exercise for men. The most convenient of all is brisk walking or running. You can just grab your sneakers if you don't own a pair of running shoes and start right away. Remember to take it slow when you are just starting. Any drastic change in general has been proven to be unsuccessful.

You will feel hungry minutes after you exercise. It is important that you drink plenty of water to replenish your body fluid. Remember not to misinterpret your appetite by eating after you exercise. Eat only during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Watch your food intake. Our body has a way of telling that we are already full. Work with that instinct. Do not give in to your craving. Always bear in mind that your goal is to lose weight.
