Should You Consider Buying An Elliptical Trainer? Part2

by Sean Stewart

This second part of the article series will be giving a direct comparison of the elliptical machine and the most popular home fitness equipment - the treadmill. I have decided to do this so you can decide better on which piece of fitness equipment will be better for you.

For the beginner, the elliptical machine is less stressful on your knees, hips and back. Running can prove to require a lot of energy and also make you feel more tired faster than the elliptical machine.

What's amazing is that the elliptical trainer and the treadmill will require the same amount of force, but the manner in which the machines have been constructed gives the elliptical machine an edge. This is because the handlebars makes you feel less stressed. Therefore, you can do your workout longer and not have to feel the strain on your knees and hips.

Your knowledge on exercising - whether you are someone who already knows a lot or absolutely have almost no idea on how to lose weight, it doesn't really matter with the elliptical trainer. This is so unlike owning a treadmill wherein you would have to do some warm up routines. You can just directly step on the elliptical machine and start pedaling slowly first for at least 10 minutes, then slowly increase your pace when you feel that you have enough capacity or just plain guts to do it.

With the treadmill, there is always the risk of injuring yourself since you might fall when you are running too fast. There are also some instances wherein one falls upon stepping on the machine itself. These may be difficult to believe, but is true. All of these risks aren't going to happen when you have the elliptical machine. It has a very safe stepper that safely secures your feet. There are also two handlebars for you to have a safe grip on the elliptical machine all the time while exercising.
