If You Are Searching For The Best Way To Get Rid Of The Extra Weight Try Walking

by Eudora Phelan

The moment you decide to lose some weight, you need to come up with an exercise program. Maybe haven't worked out in the past, or at least not lately. If you don't believe you know how to exercise very well, you can start out by walking. You must incorporate walking into your workout routine if it's something you haven't done so yet.

You can include walking into your activities in many ways. You might want to take your dog for a 10-minute stroll around the neighborhood. A minimum of 10 minutes daily may not seem like a lot of walking time until you realize that it is equivalent to 70 minutes over the course of a week. Walking your dog two times per day will double that number. If you aren't living far from work, try walking there, or at least a little bit of the way. Of course, if your workplace is two hours away, you may not want to walk that far--unless you're getting ready for a marathon! It's not unreasonable to walk for half an hour to get to your office and it will give you at least an hour of exercise every day going back and forth. If you catch a bus, simply walk to the next bus stop so that you do a bit more walking in the day. Walking isn't difficult to add to your daily schedule.

Walking is great for your whole health. As it's a cardiovascular exercise, you'll burn calories, which means you'll melt off some pounds and it's also wonderful for your heart. Walking is much easier on your joints than running. My brother is very thin (but he consumes a lot of junk food) and I ask him how he he can stay slim. Even though he claims he has no idea, I think the fact that he walks every day may help. It made good sense when he said that. The ease of walking makes it impossible to come up with explanations for not trying it.

Consider walking daily because you'll have a better chance you'll stick to it, and with the right diet, you'll be able to slim down with no problem. Because walking is not a vigorous physical activity, it's easier to remain motivated and stick to your exercise routine. Once you have been walking on a regular basis, you'll probably want to increase the intensity to experience even more benefit. There's no reason not to try it if you feel comfortable with that. Pick up the pace when you walk and, if you want, try jogging for short distances. After this, you may be interested to progress to more arduous exercises.

There should be no way for you to not go walk for a short distance every day. Even if you are busy, you can take out 10 minutes to walk around the area, or if you are a member of a gym, nip in and do half an hour on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
